Born from Sweat, Built for Workers
My name is Mike Rodriguez, and I founded VizBreeze after 15 years of breaking my back in construction. Not literally, though some days it felt close, but putting in honest work under the blazing sun, day after day, job after job.
I started swinging hammers right out of high school. Framing houses, pouring concrete, roofing in 100-degree heat. For years, I thought suffering through the heat was just part of the job. "Tough it out," the old-timers would say. "Real men don't complain about a little sweat."
But watching good workers drop from heat exhaustion? Seeing guys my age looking 10 years older because of the toll the sun takes? That's not toughness, that's just unnecessary suffering.
The Lightbulb Moment
Everything changed during a commercial job in Phoenix, July 2019. We were putting up steel framing, and the heat index hit 115Ā°F. By noon, half the crew was done. Not because we were weak ā because we were human.
That's when our Japanese project manager, Hiroshi, showed up wearing this vest with tiny fans built in. At first, we laughed. "What's that space suit, Hiroshi?" But the guy was comfortable, focused, and still going strong when the rest of us were dragging.
Turns out, cooling vests aren't some high-tech gimmick in Japan. They're standard equipment. Construction workers, road crews, landscapers, delivery drivers, everyone uses them. It's not about being soft; it's about being smart.
Why We Do This
I spent the next two years researching, testing, and working with manufacturers to create something that actually works for American workers. Not some flimsy mall kiosk gadget, but a real tool that can handle real work.
VizBreeze isn't just another product, it's what I wish I'd had during those brutal summer jobs. It's for the concrete finisher who starts at 5 AM to beat the heat. For the roofer who can't call in sick because the weather's supposed to be good. For the postal worker walking 20 miles a day in the sun.
We get it because we've been there. Every design decision, every feature, every test, it's made by people who know what it's like to earn a paycheck under the open sky.
